第2季第1集 Amok time，Spirk cp史上最重要的集之一，同时介绍了一些瓦肯的风俗。
撕名牌出自《星际迷航:原初》系列S2E1'Amok Time'(1967)一集。
S2E1 Amok Time
这一集里，史波克大副回家娶亲。第一次我们得以接触到瓦肯这个神秘而又逻辑的种族。就连《生活大爆炸》里谢耳朵也总是念叨的“Pon Farr”，就是出自这集，那指的是瓦肯人七年一次的发情期。
铁三角的关系在这一集里被诠释地无比透彻，当然伴随着的是极为狗血的剧情。史波克回家履行婚姻职责，却被自己幼年订下娃娃亲的未婚妻悔婚，这位很讲逻辑的瓦肯姑娘选了莫名其妙作为家属前来的舰长当她的勇士，必须和史波克进行决斗。而史波克在此时因为生理上的影响已进入六亲不认的“野蛮”状态，分分钟要把舰长置于死地，而舰长面对自己的大副怎么下得了手呢。但瓦肯人的内部事务，外人又不能插手。所以老骨头只能灵机一动，想了一个妙招（至于具体的招是什么， 我不告诉你，自己去看），制造了舰长死亡的假象。史波克悲痛欲绝，从“野蛮”状态解脱出来。
这集里，现在全世界都认识的瓦肯手势和致敬语“生生不息，繁荣昌盛”第一次出现；不仅如此，还可以收获绝世罕见的瓦肯人微笑一枚，至于原因嘛，自己去看喽。
Amok Time这集的作者Theodore "Ted" Sturgeon的本意是“pon farr 表示瓦肯人七年一次SEX”，但是后来因为The Enterprise Incident中也有瓦肯人SEX的描写，所以大量粉丝写信来质问为什么与原设定不符。几年后， D.C. Fontana写了一本小说Vulcan's Glory，提到pon farr只是生育周期，瓦肯人随时都可以SEX。因为TOS编剧圣经是D.C. Fontana写的，所以这个设定成为官方设定。
Fontana was flooded with letters from fans. Aware of the pon farr and believing it meant Vulcans had sex only once in seven years (Theodore Sturgeon's original idea), they complained that the scene was out of character. Years later, Fontana wrote sex scenes into Vulcan's Glory, establishing that the pon farr is only a fertility cycle but that Vulcans can have sex anytime.
TOS writer and continuity story editor Dorothy C. Fontana once explained that pon farr is not the only time Vulcans feel romantic attraction, sexual desire, or engage in sexual activity:"Vulcans mate normally any time they want to. However, every seven years you do the ritual, the ceremony, the whole thing. The biological urge. You must, but any other time is any other emotion – humanoid emotion – when you're in love. When you want to, you know when the urge is there, you do it. This every-seven-years business was taken too literally by too many people who don't stop and understand. We didn't mean it only every seven years. I mean, every seven years would be a little bad, and it would not explain the Vulcans of many different ages which are not seven years apart." – D. C.
